Create your account and activate Pocket

This guided first journey takes you from a new Cedar account to an active Pocket with test tokens. You will create a passkey, choose when to activate Pocket, and check that everything is ready before moving on.

All you need is a device, browser, or password manager that supports passkeys. Depending on your setup, the approval prompt may use Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, an Android screen lock, or your password manager.

If that prompt is not available on your current device, try another supported browser or passkey provider. You can also ask for help in the Cedar Discord.

That is the full setup requirement. You do not need a recovery phrase, another crypto wallet, real funds, or testnet gas for this Pocket journey.

  1. Open the Cedar web app.
  2. Choose Create wallet.
  3. Complete the passkey prompt.
  4. Wait for Cedar to open your new account.

Your passkey now signs you in. After Pocket activation, it also approves normal Pocket actions. Cedar does not hold its private key.

Already have a Cedar account? Choose Sign in with passkey and use the passkey linked to it.

If you close or cancel the prompt, no approval is given. Start the same action again when you are ready.

After account creation, Pocket may already show an address. That address can receive tokens on the selected supported network, but Pocket is not yet ready to send, sign messages, or approve transaction requests.

Activation is a deliberate step: Cedar waits for you to choose Activate. Simply signing in or opening the app does not start it. Until activation finishes, sending tokens, using a spending limit, signing messages, and approving app transactions remain blocked.

  1. Open Pocket.
  2. Choose Activate.
  3. Approve with your passkey.
  4. Wait until Cedar shows that Pocket is ready and Send is available.

Now give Pocket a small test balance. First, check network availability, because the faucet and Cedar must use the same network.

  1. Open Pocket.
  2. Copy your Pocket address.
  3. Open the Circle Faucet.
  4. Choose a test asset, such as USDC or EURC.
  5. Choose the same test network selected in Cedar.
  6. Paste your Pocket address and send the test tokens.
  7. Return to Cedar, confirm that the same network is still selected, and wait for the balance to appear.

If the faucet says you have reached a limit, wait and try again later.

Your first journey is complete when all four checks are true:

  • Send is available from Pocket.
  • Cedar shows your Pocket address.
  • Your test-token balance appears on the selected network.
  • Activity shows no unfinished activation action.
  • If the passkey prompt does not appear, retry from a device, browser, or password manager that supports passkeys.
  • If Cedar says setup is needed, return to Pocket and finish activation.
  • If activation is still pending, open Activity and wait for a final status instead of starting it again.
  • If the balance does not appear, compare the Pocket address and selected network with the faucet request.
  • If a token or network looks wrong, stop before approving anything and check the selected network.
  • When reporting a problem in the Cedar Discord, share the step where you could not continue.
